About Us

Y-WE empowers young women leaders through intergenerational mentorship, intercultural collaboration, and creative programs that equip girls with the confidence, resiliency, and future-planning skills they need to achieve their personal goals and improve their communities.

Each year we directly serve over 500 girls and women, impacting over 2000 community members. Y-WE is distinctive in several ways:

Our programs are based on an arts/empowerment model that values creative expression as a means of developing self-confidence

We use a group mentoring model that fosters an inter-generational community between mentors and mentees, and amongst our adult women mentors

We are dedicated to doing this in the context of an intercultural community. We are one of the only organizations in our region that actively brings together young women from different neighborhoods, schools, religions, cultures, and races so that young women learn from difference and become global citizens.

The result is an organization that fosters authentic long-term relationships in a diverse community, as well as a tremendously loyal following from its participants, mentors and alumnae.
