Since 2018, via collaboration and partnership, E&A has supported the creation and/or growth of 6 organizations throughout Baltimore City. These organizations are all youth-led or youth-focused and include Sisters Saving the City, Bmore Than Dance, Media Rhythm Institute, The Sister’s Circle, The Hair Girls, and Let’s Thrive Baltimore.
Within our Youth Entrepreneurship Program (Y.E.P) our participants learn and develop soft skills, professionalism, and experience in business development. Our youth participants decide what projects they would like to implement. The activities in this program are real-life, real-world applications of businesses, at a localized small scale, which can be taken to full scale if they would choose to do so.
Upon completion of Y.E.P, those who do not wish to start a business can choose to enter our apprenticeship program, Youth Build Community (YBC). This youth-led program is designed to give youth leadership opportunities within the community as they plan and implement community projects and learn about podcasting/radio/media. These projects allow for continual critical thinking, practice in collaboration, show the importance of effective communication, and allow for active creativity. The goal for this project is to be co-facilitated by program partners who are business owners in the respective areas of expertise in business and media.
