SHARING AND CARING HANDS INC

Sharing and Caring Hands includes a large drop-in facility and a transitional housing shelter with 100 apartments for homeless families, a Teen Center and Children's Center, and an outdoor park and playground area. Sharing and Caring Hands is run by volunteers with few paid staff. We do not accept any government or United Way funding and rely entirely on donations of time, goods, services and money from the community.

More than 20,000 people who are in crisis and unable to get help through government programs come through our drop-in facility each month. We provide a wide array of services to help meet their basic, immediate needs. By addressing essential and critical needs such as hunger, housing, health, and clothing, Sharing and Caring Hands has a huge impact on the lives of thousands of people who have nowhere else to turn.

Mary's Place, our transitional housing shelter, was recently expanded and now houses 100 families, an average of 600 people every day/night. We offer numerous programs and services for both parents and children. In addition to a safe place to live, families get an opportunity to rest and heal their spirits, to focus on rebuilding their lives, and to receive the guidance, support and encouragement they need to become stable and self-sufficient.
