Georgetown Law Center for Innovations in Community Safety

  • About Us

At the Center for Innovations in Community Safety (CICS), we envision an equitable and effective system of community safety in which communities are empowered and engaged to create a world where everyone can work, live, and play.

We leverage our unparalleled expertise and experience to implement and evaluate cutting-edge, evidence-informed programs that build safer communities through individual interventions and systems-level change.

We work to transform and end overreliance on policing and to mitigate the devastating impacts of racial and ethnic discrimination and economic inequality in the criminal legal system.

And we teach, research, write, and convene stakeholders to increase understanding of and support for innovative approaches to community safety.
