The mLab Southern Africa (SA), short for mobile applications laboratory, supports innovation and entrepreneurship though mobile apps and content in the southern Africa region. The mLab SA is implementing a hub-and-spoke model centered at The Innovation Hub in Tshwane, South Africa, with the first satellite office in Cape Town.
The mLab SA supports the mobile developer community through a range of services including handset testing, training, business mentoring, research, access to finance and markets, events and networking opportunities.
The mLab SA and mLab east Africa, in Nairobi, are the first of a number of mLabs to be launched around the world as part of the Creating Sustainable Businesses in the Knowledge Economy programme, supported by infoDev (World Bank), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Finland and Nokia.
