History & Goals: YEP was founded to empower middle and high school students, particularly those facing adversity. Our mission is to provide evidence-based mentoring programs focusing on mental health, academic success, and personal growth.
Programs:
Young Women Who Win: Weekly mentoring for girls in Title One schools, addressing academic struggles and family challenges. Mentors undergo rigorous training and utilize the "Seeking Safety" mental health program.
Teen Leadership PBC: After-school program equipping students with life skills through workshops on leadership, financial literacy, and conflict resolution.
Young Voices & Advocates: Empowering youth to advocate for policy change on issues they care about through engagement with community leaders.
Achievements: In 2023, YEP facilitated 100 mentor matches, aiming to reduce absenteeism and improve problem-solving skills. National Mentoring Partnership statistics highlight positive outcomes for mentored youth, including higher rates of college enrollment and leadership positions.
