About Us

The Congressional Award is a public-private partnership created by Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiative and service in America's youth. The Award provides a unique opportunity for young people to set and achieve personally challenging goals that build character and foster community service, personal development, physical fitness, and citizenship. The Award is operated by a 501(c)(3)charitable foundation. The age group served is 14 to 23 and there are presently 25,000 young people from all over the country who are enrolled in the program. Working with an adult advisor, each young person sets goals within the required program areas and records their hourly service. They may earn six levels of recognition from Congress- certificates and medals, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
