Community Educational Support Program, Myanmar

The concept of the Community Educational Support Program is to support local individuals and organizations to implement quality post-secondary community education programs in provincial urban centers in Myanmar where few education opportunities are available.

Participating programs in CESP support individuals from disadvantaged communities in the region and provide them with the skills and abilities they seek to have a positive impact on their communities.

Main goals of the program are:

• To build the capacity of students to participate effectively in the development of their communities and access further education.
• To promote inter-ethnic/inter-religious understanding and cooperation.
• To engage students with approaches to reconciliation, conflict prevention, peace and consensus building.
• To instill passion for service to community.
