  • About Us

Summerbridge Miami was founded in 1991 at Ransom Everglades School and is modeled after the original Summerbridge program at University High School in San Francisco. Summerbridge Miami serves as a model that represents academic excellence, diversity, inclusiveness and breakthroughs. This unique experience transforms both the young teachers and the young students who participate. With “Students Teaching Students” as our motto, the mission of the program is to prepare public middle school students for academically rigorous educational experiences and to inspire high school and college students to enter the field of education or, at the very least, become advocates for educational equity. This mission was best summarized when Newsweek magazine stated: “Summerbridge gets younger students into learning and older students into teaching.”
