California Right to Know

About Us

We advocate for a California right-to-know ballot initiative for labeling of genetically engineered food.

The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act will be on the November 2012 statewide ballot in California as Proposition 37. Currently, there are no laws in California requiring labeling of genetically engineered foods.

Our campaign has been endorsed by a wide variety of environmental, consumer, labor, food, agriculture and health organizations, including the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, California Certified Organic Farmers, California Labor Federation, Center for Environmental Health, Center for Food Safety, Center for Media and Democracy, Consumer Federation of America, Food & Water Watch, Food Chain Worker Alliance, Food Democracy Now!, Food First/Institute for Food and Development Policy, Global Exchange, Green America, Greenpeace, Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, Organic Consumers Association, Pesticide Action Network, Public Citizen, Rainforest Action Network, Rodale Institute, Sierra Club and the United Farm Workers.
