The Academy at Charlemont

The Academy at Charlemont delivers a rigorous education and fosters joyful engagement, active citizenship, and the desire for justice in each student. Our community nurtures creativity, independent thinking, and empathy so that our students become their best selves.

Our slogan “Find your voice. Speak your mind” represents our commitment to affirming the uniqueness of each individual. Founded in 1981, we believe that a school community based on the values of self-reliance, industry, integrity, and compassion encourages the development of intellectual and social standards that reflect those values. We are honored to be a safe-haven for LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent kids, as well as providing a rigorous academic environment for all, supplemented by a robust arts program. Our students love to be involved in the many aspects of our school–from civic engagement to artistic and athletic endeavors to independent senior projects and more. Our graduates most often land at 4-year liberal arts institutions and pursue careers across the arts, education, human services, non-profit management, law and medicine. We are excited to find the next full time member of our community!
