STAR Theater for Social Change

  • About Us

About STAR: The S.T.A.R. Program (S.T.A.R.) is a nationally recognized, adolescent health promotion model that employs original, peer-developed, musical theater to assist young people in identifying and clarifying the health and social challenges they face, help change negative or unhealthy attitudes, and promote healthy behaviors. S.T.A.R.’s mission is to utilize the performing arts to educate young people about physical and emotional health and sexuality, promote healthy attitudes, build risk reduction skills, link youth with health care and social services, and to impact on behaviors that threaten to undermine their healthy development.
