Mwalimu Center for Justice (“MCFJ”) is a non-profit law office, formed in 2001 to represent indigent death-sentenced Louisiana men and women in collateral litigation in state and federal courts. MCFJ also acts as resource counsel with pro bono law firms who represent capital post-conviction clients. MCFJ provides legal representation from the time that a client’s direct appeal to the Louisiana Supreme Court becomes final with the denial of certiorari by the Supreme Court of the United States until final resolution of the case.
