About Us

Beacon hospice is looking for volunteers to help provide companionship with people who are finishing their journey on earth. Brighten someone’s day with a visit. Bring joy to someone’s life.

Hospice volunteers can make a huge difference in a variety of ways, including:

  • Offering companionship
  • Reading and writing letters
  • Playing chess, cards or board games

Hospice volunteering is exceptionally gratifying; the only prerequisites are:

  • Compassion
  • respect for all ways of life
  • the ability to listen and be comfortable in silence

Beacon will train all who are interested in helping others find some comfort in their last days. You can give as little as 4 hours a month, or as much as you would like. You can make a difference in someone’s life. You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer.

If interested, or if you have any questions, Please call Julie Adamchek at (413) 543-3133. Or Email at Julie.Adamchek@amedisys.com
