Our Mission
To provide medical care and support to people in developing countries through community partnerships and direct treatment.
What We Do
Larksview Foundation is a small but growing 501(c)(3) charity. Our primary goal is to provide medical care and health education to people with limited access. In addition, we donate medical equipment to physicians and practitioners to improve and support their diagnostic abilities. We currently do this by working in Rukwa, Tanzania, through a partnership with a private local hospital.
In our operations we bring medical teams to remote areas and populations under duress. All our interventions are provided at no cost. When we are unable to perform the necessary test or surgical intervention ourselves, we make every effort to cover the cost for the patient to receive it locally.
Our teams consist of volunteer physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support personnel with a heart for helping others. We see hundreds of people per day with diseases ranging from a simple cough to severe Malaria and Typhoid, bringing specialists and critical care practitioners that offer expertise not seen in this region. Our interventions, provided alongside local medical staff and community leaders, result in immediate life-saving treatment. This partnership allows for ongoing communications and a continuum of care after we leave, allowing us to support ongoing health needs. On our last trip, we saw 971 people and are currently developing programs for nutrition, perinatal and newborn care, and chronic disease maintenance.
Everyone who participates in a medical trip pays for their own lodging and travel. No one in the organization is paid for their time. This means that nearly every dollar donated goes directly to support our work. Although we embrace individual beliefs, we are not a religious organization.
