    Black Ensemble founded in 1976 by Jackie Taylor, Executive Director. It is the only professional African-American theater company on the North side of Chicago. It has produced more than 100 professional productions and provided employment for more than 3,000 African American artists. Our mission is to produce entertaining, educational and elightening African American theater of excellence, that reaches a multicultural audience.Committed to using theater as a cultural bridge, bringing people of all nationalities and cultures together, providing educational outreach to students, teachers and parents. Community Access Program, New Directions Program, Theater for Special Women.
