  • Mission

At the Fayette County Community Action Agency, our mission is to strengthen individuals and families to become more self sufficient, achieving their potential by taking advantage of opportunities, improving the conditions in which they live and taking ownership of their community.

    About Us

    Fayette County Community Action, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization founded in 1966 as a community-based, multi-serviced agency

Our promise to the community states that "Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other." We operate over 60 projects and programs to address emergency needs such as food and shelter for the underserved, unemployed and homeless as well as focusing on long term needs which empower and equip individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency.

While you do not need to be a part of this program to volunteer with us, one program we operate, our Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a volunteer referral and outreach program designed to develop meaningful opportunities for people ages 55 and older to participate fully in their community and help meet critical community needs.
