Mission
7 Directions of Service is an Indigenous-led environmental justice organization committed to protecting land, water, and sacred places through the revitalization of Indigenous knowledge systems, rights-based advocacy, and community organizing. Our mission is to advance environmental and climate justice by centering Indigenous leadership, asserting Tribal sovereignty, and dismantling systems of environmental harm—especially in historically excluded and state-recognized tribal communities.
About Us
7DS works at the intersection of Indigenous sovereignty and environmental justice , with a strong focus on:
- Policy advocacy (e.g., Rights of Nature, anti-pipeline legislation)
- Movement-building and coalition work across Indigenous and environmental sectors
- Legal and scientific interventions that combine Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) with western frameworks
- International and state-level engagement , including UN human rights submissions and legislative drafting
7DS is structured as a systems-change nonprofit , addressing structural racism, land dispossession, and climate injustice through governance reform, rights-based campaigns, and grassroots mobilization.
