Urban Squash Twin Cities

USTC is being developed to serve as a critical source of long-term, intensive support for participating children. Unique to the Twin Cities, this program is modeled after successful programs in ten other cities, including Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, New Haven, and Baltimore.

The key purpose of Urban Squash Twin Cities is to develop an intensive program that combines squash playing, academic tutoring, and community service, in a manner that successfully transforms the lives of a select group of underserved youth in the Twin Cities. By working with a group of students beginning in sixth grade and continuing through high school, we expect to create outcomes and opportunities that would otherwise not be achievable. These outcomes include the assurance of high school graduation and post secondary matriculation and completion. We also strive to create significant personal development in each program participant that will positively contribute to his or her future.
