MayaWorks provides mechanisms for economic development of Mayan artisans in Guatemala, primarily though the use of the women to women networks that build on female leadership and the principles of fair trade.

The organization works as a nonprofit social venture that empowers indigenous women of Guatemala to achieve economic security by providing markets for their handcrafted products, access to microcredit loans and expanded educational opportunities.
