Dutchess County Art Association/Barrett Art Center
55 Noxon Street
The DCAA was founded in Poughkeepsie, New York in 1935 by Treasury Relief Art Project (WPA) artist Thomas Weeks Barrett, Jr. (1902-1947). Today, we use his family's 1840s Greek Revival brick townhouse for high-caliber contemporary art exhibitions curated by nationally recognized museum professionals, and to serve the community with arts education programs. We showcase over 600 works from a national pool of artists annually and our on- and off-site programs reach over 2,200 participants of all ages. The house and historical exhibits drawn from its collection complement this contemporary work.
