  • About Us

Barrett Art Center is 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization that partners with renowned curators from around the globe (Tate Modern, The Getty, Brooklyn Museum of Art) to bring high-caliber contemporary art to the heart of the City of Poughkeepsie in a series of five exhibitions of international art annually. Barrett operates education programs and tours for all ages and abilities in our galleries and in spaces across Poughkeepsie.

We work to preserve and interpret our national landmark historic building and art collections as complements to our exhibitions and education programs that seek to examine contemporary visual culture and meaning making in contemporary society.
