  • About Us

We are a private, not-for-profit childcare center that serves children ages 6 weeks - kindergarten and their working families with full and part time schedules. Located in Winnetka Illinois, Harkness House for Children was begun in the belief that all families deserve a quality and affordable program based on exemplary childcare practices and procedures, implemented by a well-trained, professional and caring staff. HHC provides a loving, nurturing, multicultural environment, with an antibias curriculum, in which children learn to respect and care for themselves and others. HHC is committed to bringing children, parents and caregivers together to support the family as a nurturing unit in a diverse society and to provide leadership to the larger childcare community.
