Get Covered America - Pennsylvania

Make a big impact in Pennsylvania this summer!

Get Covered America is a project of Enroll America, a non-profit dedicated to maximizing the number of uninsured Americans who enroll in health coverage made available by the Affordable Care Act.

Summer Fellows for Enroll America/Get Covered America will work closely with staff, volunteers, and partners to get uninsured Americans up to speed on the opportunity to enroll in affordable, quality health insurance made available by the Affordable Care Act. Fellows will work in Pittsburgh, PA or Philadelphia, PA.

While all fellows will play a role in our outreach activities, fellows will also have the opportunity to gain more advanced skills by participating in one of four program tracks:

Grassroots Organizing – fellows will communicate with consumers about their new health coverage options, recruit and train volunteers on how to communicate with consumers about their new health coverage options, and collaborate with partners to conduct outreach and in-reach. This is a great opportunity for candidates who are strong communicators, and passionate about expanding access to health coverage.

Data – fellows will help our team generate lists and reports to help guide outreach activities, maintain data cleanliness, provide data training for volunteers and new staff, etc. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a strong understanding of Excel or other Data management systems.

Communications & Digital Organizing – fellows will help develop each state's social media presence; collect stories; draft and edit press releases, advisories, talking points and statements; etc. This is a great opportunity for candidates with strong writing skills, and experience using Twitter and other social media services.

Constituency Outreach and Partner Engagement – fellows will work with partners and key community institutions to do outreach to specific populations such as community college students, faith communities, small businesses, etc. Fellows will also regularly work with consumers and volunteers. This is a great opportunity for candidates who have strong ties to a particular community and an interest in working with diverse partners, volunteers, and consumers.
