About Us

Founded in 2003, CyArk is an internationally focused, non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of heritage and culture throughout the world. We are the pioneers of the digital preservation movement using lasers, drones and high-definition cameras to capture and archive human history.  Our mission is to create a free 3D online library of the world’s culture heritage sites before they are lost to natural disasters, destroyed by human aggression or ravaged by the passage of time. To date CyArk has digitally preserved over 200 sites on 7 continents in over 40 countries. Our fieldwork includes international landmarks such as Pompeii, Angkor Wat, Chichen Itza, Babylon and Mt Rushmore. Our work is regularly the subject of articles and video segments for National Geographic, CNN, BBC, the New York Times and Fast Company.  Our goal is to not only ensure that these sites are digitally preserved, but to make them available to future generations, while making them uniquely accessible to help educate youth and the public to travel virtually with CyArk around the world.
