About Us

Texas Campaign for the Environment is Texas' largest non-profit environmental organization. With over 40,000 individual members here in the state, we are at the forefront of grassroots efforts to protect our state's environment and public health.

TCE works both locally and statewide to sustain and improve environmental standards, preserve our valuable natural resources and promote democratic processes in which the voice of the people determines the policy that affects our communities and quality of life.

Some of our victories include:

- Rick Perry signed both of our Producer Take-back bills into law, which require computer & television manufacturers to offer recycling options for their old products

- We were the driving force that established Dell's computer recycling program

- We established curbside recycling programs in Houston, Dallas and Arlington.

- We passed a bag ordinance in Austin, which limits retailers from giving away single-use paper and plastic bags.

Heading towards a zero waste future, TCE is now working to:

Prevent retailers from selling toxic products with chemicals that cause cancer and developmental issues.

Educate the public about hazardous substances in everyday products, such as arsenic and lead, and the importance of retailers providing safe products for all consumers across Texas.

Build our strength in numbers to stand up against companies selling toxic products, pressuring them to choose greener manufacturers immediately.

Help protect the planet, knocking on one door at a time!
