    AARP Foundation creates and advances effective solutions to reduce poverty for and with older adults. Since 1968, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide team of over 26,000 volunteers have provided tax assistance to more than 75 million older taxpayers with low to moderate income. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest volunteer-based free tax assistance and preparation service.

    About Us

    In 2022, the people AARP Foundation served received more than $726 million in income, benefits, refunds, and credits. We fought systemic injustice, and we helped older adults with low income seize opportunities to re-enter the workforce, bolster their budgets, give back to their communities, and recover from disasters. As a Tax-Aide volunteer, you’ll receive training and support with IRS-certification, learn new skills, and connect with people in your community while giving back. There's a variety of volunteer roles and also flexible virtual opportunities. Whatever your skill set, there's a role for you!
