About Us

Patrick Henry Family Services began with the original Patrick Henry Boys Plantation, a residential care facility for boys established in 1961. At that time there were facilities to care for only six boys. In the years that followed, additional cottages were constructed to expand the program, and in 1974, the decision was made to create other Patrick Henry facilities in other areas. Today, Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Homes are found throughout central Virginia in Brookneal, Bedford and Rustburg.

In 2007, we opened Hope for Tomorrow, a community-based services center that offers child and family counseling, family support, and a transitional living program. Today there are Hope for Tomorrow locations in Lynchburg, South Boston, Bedford and Farmville, VA.

Patrick Henry Family Services has continued to grow, and now includes the ministries of Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Homes, Hope for Tomorrow Counseling, Safe Families for Children, Hat Creek Camps, The Hammersly Conference Center, Straight Talk Radio and more. Working together, each outreach helps fulfill the mission of keeping children safe and families strong.
