Loving Hearts Animal Society was created in July, 2022 by a group of local area residents who believe that providing adequate shelter, adoption and spay/neuter resources is a better solution to the use of euthanasia to resolve the growing number of homeless animals in our underserved communities. Loving Hearts currently has a home-based rescue shelter facility for cats consisting of a neonate kitten nursery with incubators and juvenile kennels for 3-6 neonates, a quarantine and isolation room with 2-3 intake kennels, and a general population room with kennels to shelter 12-24 felines. Our home-based facility also has 4-5 canine kennels that are used by our organization as a foster provider for the Buffalo Underdogs Rescue in New York as part of their foster and relocation program with the City of Jasper Animal Shelter to save dogs at risk for being euthanized. Our organization is also currently renovating donated property and a building that upon completion will serve as a low cost community spay and neuter clinic, which will be operated by two of our volunteer veterinarians, and will also provide future support to launch local trap and release and vaccination programs.
