Honoring the Spirit Through Loving Care and Service
In 1982, in the midst of the AIDS epidemic, Sojourn Chaplaincy was established as an HIV/AIDS ministry at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (SFGH). Since that time, the scope of Sojourn’s service has expanded to provide a non-judgmental multi-faith ministry of presence to the entire medical center and spiritual care training to seminarians and community members. For more than 30 years, Sojourn has partnered with SFGH to serve the poorest, most endangered and socially vulnerable members of society, including numerous individuals without homes or financial resources and many documented and un-documented immigrants. Today, Sojourn is proud to be able to continue “honoring the Spirit through loving care and service.”
