Court Watch Montgomery

Court Watch Montgomery aims to ensure that all victims of intimate partner violence in Montgomery County and throughout Maryland have access to responsive justice and vital services that will stop abuse quickly and permanently. To achieve this goal, we recruit, train and support community volunteers who monitor and collect data on domestic violence hearings in the Montgomery County courts. We identify gaps in the domestic violence safety net, provide the courts and policymakers with findings and recommendations to improve policy and practice, and work toward implementation of needed reforms. We hold judges and court personnel accountable for providing a safe and respectful court environment.
