  • About Us

Cora Dance creates opportunities for individuals to interact, learn, and grow through the medium of dance, with a particular focus on communities that lack performing arts experiences due to limited financial resources or other isolating factors. Through the professional dance company, Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance, YCP/Youth Company Programs and pay-what-you-can school for dance in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Cora provides exceptional dance programs and performances while addressing the impediments that restrict many low-income people from acces. Cora fosters an environment of trust and common ground between diverse people, allowing all those involved – artists, students, audiences and community members – to learn from one another openly and connect more deeply.
