  • About Us

The Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI) provides graduate level instruction leading to a California multiple subject teaching credential. The students in our program form a supportive cohort community of elementary school paid intern (assistant) teachers who work at 25 different independent, parochial, and charter schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. BATTI mentors and supervisors give expert coaching to the intern teachers, and BATTI continues to guide teachers as they enter the teaching field after graduation. BATTI seeks to diversify the teaching profession by attracting more males and teachers of color.
