Here at The Way Free Medical Clinic, Inc., we are committed to a single goal; to improve access to health care for the uninsured residents of Clay County, Florida.

    About Us

    Where hope begins to heal!

In April 2006, The Way Free Medical Clinic in Green Cove Springs opened its doors to meet an increasing demand for basic medical care for the low-income, uninsured population of Clay County, Florida.

The Way Free Medical Clinic was born when our founder, Jeannie Gallina, learned of the tremendous unmet medical needs facing Clay County residents during a Peace and Justice Retreat Weekend at Mission Church of Sacred Heart in August 2005.

Volunteer doctors, nurses, clerical workers and translators staff The Way Clinic or El Camino, as called by the Hispanic community. The clinic has four exam rooms, administration space, a triage area, conference room/educational center and a large waiting area, furnished with donated medical equipment, office furniture, construction materials and labor.

The Way Clinic provides free basic medical services and laboratory testing, referral services, prescription medications and educational services to uninsured patients who qualify financially at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Our hope is to make a permanent change in the mindset and future health of the people in the community we serve. Helping our clients understand their medical needs and encouraging them to take charge of their own health will have far-reaching implications for future generations.
