PORTLAND PANTY PROJECT

  • Mission

It is socially unacceptable and unhealthy for women to go without clean underwear and a bra, yet many homeless women are unable to afford these necessities. The Portland Panty Project works in four centers throughout Portland to provide women in need with size-appropriate undergarments and feminine products in a dignified and enjoyable manner.

    About Us

My friend Paige and I noticed a lack of size appropriate undergarments while working as interns at Operation Nightwatch, a homeless hospitality center in Portland, Oregon. Since September 2015 we have worked through Operation Nightwatch to provide Portland’s homeless women with two pairs of underwear and one bra apiece. We have been lucky enough to expand our organization this past year as we have begun a collaboration with Rahab’s Sisters, a hospitality center for women in need and Monika’s House, a domestic violence shelter for women and children. We have also been lucky enough to be mentioned by Portland Today, Oregon Live, and Willamette Weekly. We have recently gained status as a 501c3 tax exempt organization and are looking for new volunteers to help our organization thrive as we move away.
