East Town Association
The East Town Association, Inc. is a professional non-profit membership association representing over 150 neighborhood businesses, property owners and residents in Milwaukee’s East Town neighborhood. Originally chartered in 1963 as a street merchant’s business association, the East Town Association, Inc. has evolved into what is widely recognized as the oldest neighborhood business association in Milwaukee.
The Association promotes its members to visitors and consumers. The Association also produces annual fundraising events such as Bastille Days, Jazz in the Park, and East Town Farm Market. Proceeds from membership dues and the events fund the neighborhood improvements, marketing efforts and the association office. Other than funding, the primary purpose of these events is to showcase the East Town neighborhood as a clean, safe destination with a variety of specialty shopping, dining and entertainment options. Additionally, the Association partners with a number of the visual and performing arts venues to promote Milwaukee as a legitimate cultural center in Wisconsin.
