Deanwood Youth Empowerment Association

The Mission of D.Y.E.A. is to create a nurturing, stable, and culturally diverse environment within D.Y.E.A. which encourages inner-city youth to become effective, contributing adults to our community.

Objective:

D.Y.E.A. stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing days, such as self-discipline D.Y.E.A. will introduce services to an extremely underprivileged youth population. As a result, we anticipate a decrease in crime, fewer youths not attending school regularly, increased diversity among our participants to reflect the changing demographics of the neighborhoods we serve, and improved quality of life for those participants, teamwork, concentration, friendship, and leadership.

Our Programs will develop well-rounded young men and young women who learn not only the fundamentals of sports and music but also the importance of education and teamwork, in an atmosphere conducive to developing a sound mind, body and character and, having a good time along the way. We practice the ideals of scholarship, sportsmanship and, physical fitness.

The Goal of D.Y.E.A. is to offer inner-city youths positive activities to involve themselves in, and to offer them various opportunities of continuing their educational goals.
