About Us
Local Matters was founded ten years ago in response to these issues with a belief that all people have a right to access healthy foods. Our mission is to create healthy communities through food education, access and advocacy. We work to increase food security, decrease the consequences of diet-related disease, and help people improve their health and well-being.
We provide hands-on education to thousands of children and adults to help them take control of their own health. Our education builds understanding, confidence and skills to promote healthy eating and active living. We support the health and wellness of everyone from pre-schoolers to seniors by partnering with community organizations, hospital systems, schools, and businesses across Central Ohio through four core programs:
