HCDBM was founded as a nonprofit organization in October 2000, incorporated in June 2003, and received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status on January 7, 2004. Founded by David and Agnes Hubbard, HCDBM collected and distributed food to 30 impoverished families during its first year. Over the years, HCDBM has continued to grow, offering more programs and services to an ever increasing number of clients. HCDBM moved into new facility in December 2015. The new warehouse and program offices have enabled HCDBM to expand our outreach into the Texas Hill Country. HCDBM currently serves over 1,800 individuals through the Family Mentoring Resource Program, an additional 20,000 through our Community Resource Program, and impacts the lives of children in poverty through programs that are specific to their needs. HCDBM’s service area includes eight counties: Bandera, Comal, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, North Bexar, and Uvalde.
