    • About Us

          The IX Art Park Foundation is an award winning public arts organization that received its 501(c)(3) status in August 2019. Our Mission is “to create an immersive art space that sparks creativity and inspiration in people’s everyday lives.” 

    The IX Art Park was founded in 2014 as a means of bringing vitality to one of the poorest neighborhoods in Charlottesville through the healing power of public art. We began by introducing large murals and life size sculptures designed by local artists to our outdoor park. We expanded into live performance art covering multiple genres including music, theater, dance, and cultural festivals. In 2019, we hosted over 200 performing arts and community-related events in both our indoor and outdoor venues. In 2020, we opened “The Looking Glass,” the first permanent, interactive, immersive art space in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and we began an arts education initiative. Our long-term goal is to grow the organization into a regionally and nationally recognized arts venue specializing in the growing trend of immersive art experiences.
