Friends of Heirloom Flowers Garden Club of Fremont CA

  • Mission

Friends of Heirloom Flowers is a volunteer gardening group that partners with the City of Fremont to maintain one of Fremont's historical parks. We have work parties every Tuesday at Shinn Park & Arboretum, 1251 Peralta Blvd., 10:00 to noon, then a social tea and coffee. We introduce heirloom flowers into the gardens and maintain the integrity of the plants already there. We work as a flexible team, share ideas, preserve history, and enjoy the outdoors while making new friends. Our quarterly membership meetings include speakers in gardening-related fields, and we take field trips to various gardens or related places of interest.

    About Us

We encourage all levels of gardeners to come help us maintain Shinn Park & Arboretum - seasoned gardeners to novices. We also welcome members whose schedules allow them to join us one or two Tuesdays a month. Just bring pruning shears, gloves, and a willingness to work.

We also encourage students to earn their extra credit and community service hours in our gardens; they just need to be mentored by one of our members.

    ALL are welcome.
