Artist Communities Alliance

Artist Communities Alliance (ACA) is an international nonprofit association, providing services to more than 400 organizational and individual members working in the field of artist residencies. Based in Providence, RI, and operating fully remotely, ACA is a trusted partner to the field catalyzing critical dialogue about equity and justice, providing research about artist residencies, hosting professional development convenings, managing grantmaking programs, offering consulting services, developing informational tools, and advocating on behalf of artist residencies and artists. ACA is committed to structural change in the residency field to create inclusive, just, joyful, and accessible environments where artists and staff can thrive. Founded in 1991, ACA maintains a staff of 8-10 employees and a national Board of Trustees. ACA is dedicated to building culturally diverse and pluralistic staff, board, and contractors.
