GRIP (Greater Richmond Interfaith Program)

Grip seeks to address the issues of justice that affect the poor and the disenfranchised or our society, so as to empower all people.

Today, GRIP operates three programs from our state-of--the--art Family Housing and Supportive Services Center in Richmond, California. Integrating comprehensive services, in one, stable, easily accessed location, provides effective ongoing support for families and individuals to stabilize their lives and transition to independence.

Shelter

Our Family Housing Program provides 75 beds of emergency and transitional housing, on-site comprehensive case management, support and basic services, year-round, for families. One of the very few programs accepting families with teen boys or men who are single parents, GRIP helps all families stay together.

Our newest shelter component, the Permanent Housing Program , houses 8 individual tenants, each living with dually-diagnosed mental illness, and teaches residents to live independently, with continuous support from our Resource Center.

Food

The Souper Center provides free hot lunch to any hungry person, and 3 meals a day to our residents. Most food is donated, a nd meals are prepared and served by thousands of volunteers.

Services and Case Management

Our West County Resource Center provides any unsheltered person and family tailored case management, training and treatment programs on site or provided by referral to our many partners.
