The Transformation Project / New Day Cafe

The mission of The Transformation Project is to provide opportunities for young adult offenders to discover their potential and successfully reenter their communities.

With an ever increasing recidivism rate, a high suicide rate, a drug epidemic that is ravaging our state, and an average of six homicides in Maine per week, the need for support inside corrections and after release is critical.

It is our mission to foster a sense of belonging and to help young adult offenders discover their potential and to successfully reenter their communities. TTP provide opportunities for achievement for those reentering our communities by offering the following all under one roof: home with two houseparents, employment, mentorship, life skills training, and educational programming.

TTP will own and operate the New Day Cafe (& Catering) providing a place for young offenders with no job experience to learn how to succeed through trial and error. TTP fully embraces the old saying; "If at first you don't succeed, then try, try again." We also will be opening our new venue space early 2018 which will provide a platform for young adults to share their artistic gifts with the community such as music shows, art displays and spoken word events.
