Willow Glen Toastmasters
Mission
We are a 30-year-old chapter of Toastmasters International, based in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose, California. We have a rich tradition of "Distinguished Club" awards and speech contest performances. Members and guests love our meetings for their exciting content and for our friendly, supportive atmosphere.
About Us
What characteristics make our club unique?
Supportive: Our long-standing Toastmasters chapter is known for the enthusiasm and supportiveness of its people.
Flexible: Though we always follow our agenda, we're willing to try new things. We've recently tried some theater techniques, volunteered as judges at a local debate tournament, and gone on a field trip to an improv comedy show.
Open: Ours is a community club. There's no need to be affiliated with any company, special interest group, or advanced manual.
Appropriately Sized: We're not too big or too small. We're currently at the sweet spot where it's easy to schedule speeches and roles to quickly reach your Competent Communicator, Competent Leadership, or Pathways goals.
Varied: Some of our members have been associated with Toastmasters for 15 years, while some have joined within the last few months. Some of us are new to public speaking, while others speak at conferences, at council meetings, at work, and in the community.
Members and guests love our club because everybody gets to speak at every meeting!
