    Bellevue Hospital Center (BHC) is a large municipal hospital that serves an ethnically diverse, generally high-risk, low-income population. BHC provides accessible health care services regardless of patients' ability to pay. It is a tertiary-care facility, which is part of the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation. BHC’s Social Work Department is the second oldest Social Work department in the country. The Social Work staff provides comprehensive psychosocial assessments, interventions and concrete services, which support the continuing needs of patients and their families. The Bilingual Treatment Program (BTP) is part of Bellevue Hospital's Outpatient Mental Hygiene Clinic. BTP offers supportive group therapy, individual psychotherapy, family therapy, psychopharmocolgy and concrete social services to Spanish speaking adults.
