About Us

The Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo is a Unitarian Universalist Church serving in the community of North Central San Mateo. We have 175 members from all over the SF Peninsula.

The Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo (UUSM) is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Our congregation is a place where people gather to nurture their spirits and put their faith into action by helping to make our community – and the world – a better place.  We are committed to spiritual growth and transformation. We are people of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs. We create spirituality and community beyond boundaries, working for more justice and more love in our own lives and in the world.

Our Mission

We are a religious community of open hearts and open minds, working together to transform ourselves and the world.

Our Vision

Together, we create a welcoming, diverse, and vibrant community, where our accessible, sustainable campus is a sanctuary for spiritual growth; a center for transformative love and justice; and a home for liberal religious exploration, education, and empowerment.
