Clean Virginia is a new independent advocacy organization that fights corruption in Virginia politics in order to promote clean government and clean energy for the Commonwealth. Through campaign finance, legislative advocacy and public campaigning, we seek to break the cycle of harmful utility monopoly corruption in Virginia. We engage in three areas of work: first, through our associated Political Action Committee, we support Delegates, state Senators, and candidates for Virginia’s General Assembly who refuse donations from publicly regulated electric monopolies. Second, we design innovative campaigns to inform the public about the harmful impacts of legalized corruption in Virginia's energy sector. Third, we engage in research and policy development so Virginia can harness its potential to become a nationwide leader in energy policy. Throughout our work, we aim to level the playing field so that all Virginians, including low-income communities, communities of color, small business and municipalities, can benefit from the transition to renewable energy in our state.
About Us: We are a small team headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia. We are a highly collaborative staff and lean on the collective experience, knowledge and skills of our team, cultivating interpersonal trust and open communication.
