Vashon Wilderness Program

  • Mission

Vashon Wilderness Program provides nature immersion experiences that cultivate a deep relationship between self, community and the natural world.

    About Us

Since 2007, VWP has helped more than 2100 people for all ages from our Vashon and surrounding rural and urban Puget Sound communities to develop a deep and abiding connection with the earth and each other.

Our summer camps, weekly and monthly school-year programs, workshops and trainings for adults, teen leadership development initiatives, and free seasonal celebrations for the whole community ground our students in empathy, peace, ecological wisdom, and problem-solving skills that build connections with the more-than-human world we all share.

Through our renowned approach to deep nature connection mentoring, Coyote Mentoring, our students become more present, attentive, peaceful, happy, empathic, vital, and truly helpful members of their community. Through increasing their ecological knowledge and wilderness survival skills, they not only grow as naturalists, but as human beings appreciative of the more than human world.
