About Us

The Seattle Children’s Chorus, a performance and educational choral music organization, nurtures excellence in young musicians through: • Performance of the finest choral music with a unique commitment to sacred literature. • Education that fosters musical development and personal growth through teamwork, friendships, community and cross-cultural experience. • Acceptance of young musicians of diverse ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds.

Founded in 1989, the Seattle Children’s Chorus is a choral arts organization dedicated to fostering musical excellence in the development of young singers. The Chorus offers a quality, performance-based vocal education and programs repertoire of highest caliber from all genres of choral music with a special emphasis on sacred literature. Annually, SCC has the privilege of impacting 200 youth, ages 7-18, through the vocal and choral training in four progressive choir levels. Seattle Children’s Chorus believes in enriching the young singer with excellent festival and cross-cultural experiences. The various choirs have toured both locally and internationally, having traveled to Great Britain, Scandinavia, Central Europe, Canada and Brazil. The choir has been invited to perform for regional and national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association. Seattle Children’s Chorus enjoys giving back to the community by participation in local churches, civic and cultural events.

SCC activities include weekly rehearsals, monthly board meetings, quarterly performances, annual national or international tours, chorister retreats and community events.
