Mission
It is the mission of The Open Barn to create a better world for all animals through inspiration and education about the problems surrounding animal exploitation and our power as individuals to be part of the solution. It is our duty to provide lifelong care, veterinary services, and rehabilitation needed for the lasting recovery and well-being of animals that reside at The Open Barn sanctuary. It is our purpose to promote the principle that animals are deserving of moral consideration, and to highlight the positive impact that this guiding principle has on animals, people, and the planet.
About Us
The Open Barn has come such a long way over the past 4 years since we moved in to this sanctuary property in 2019. We started from scratch, setting up fencing and barns for now 31 residents, which are a mix of pigs, goats, sheep, and a few turkeys who now call this place home. Over the years we’ve done fundraisers to build new barns, facilitate animal rescues, and promote the mission of The Open Barn. Today we have an awesome growing volunteer program and we’d love to recruit even more support! The more help we have, the more we can do for animals.
